Andy is a Black, trans New Orleans native who we are raising money for in order to support their survival during Covid.
Currently Andy is in cosmetology school and is doing great! They got straight As for their first semester and are about to start their second. But in order to continue focusing on school they need our financial support. Recently Andy was diagnosed with diabetes, which has caused a big adjustment to their lifestyle. They are on an expensive diet due to needing special foods for their health. Additionally Andy struggles with severe mental illnesses and chronic pain, which makes working a job right now extremely difficult when they are trying to focus on school.
I don't want to divulge too much of Andy's history but I have been friends with them for a long time and want anyone reading this to understand that Andy has been through it all. Andy staying in school and focusing on their health are things they deserve to do, and they also deserve our support to make it happen for them.
Andy needs our financial support so that they can focus on school without the emotional burden of financial instability. They need our support so that they don't have to have anxiety when having to spend money on food they need to work through their diabetes diagnosis, and so they can afford to put money towards their healing without having to get behind on bills. They need our support so that they can survive and thrive!
Our goal of $7,000 is to alleviate these financial burdens for them for the time being.
