Help Save Ana and Jess’ Wedding

If you've met Ana Maria Campoy and Jesse Glick even for a few minutes, you should know that they are two of the kindest, most generous people one could ever meet. Next summer they plan to marry, and in February of this year were so happy to have saved enough money to put down a $2,200 deposit on a reception venue: The EM Fine Arts Center in South Lake Union, Washington.
Unfortunately, last week they received a suspicious email from the venue managers telling them that there had been an electrical fire causing $100,000 in damage, and that the business owners of EM would not only be closing down the event space, but that they would also be invoking a clause in the contract which meant that no deposits would be refunded. This meant that Jesse and Ana Maria were now out $2,200 and no longer had a place to hold their wedding.
The plot thickened when it was discovered that there was no fire at the EM as the email had claimed. Ana Maria, Jesse, and all the other couples who had booked EM for their weddings were the victims of a scam. The owners of the EM had been holding weddings in the space for years without proper permitting. When forced to come into compliance or be forced out of the space, they took all the payments and disappeared, leaving those who booked the space scrambling to find new venues and the money to pay for said venues.
Neither of them asked for any financial assistance since the loss. Those who know Ana Maria and Jesse know that they will go to incredible lengths for others, and will always offer whatever support they can to those in need. This is our turn to show them the generosity that they have shown to others. Let's help this amazing couple replace what was wrongfully taken from them!
