What a year it has been... My name is Aishia Sampson. I am 16 years old from Calgary, Canada and I have the honour of representing Team Canada at the International Dance Organization's World Dance Championships this winter in Poland. I was fortunate enough to have competed last year at the Worlds in Germany and won the title of Adult Ballet Soloist World Dance Champion, Adult Contemporary Duo World Dance Champion, as well as being a part of a very successful team that brought home many gold medals. This year I am excited to say that we have a strong and enthusiastic team, hoping to do Canada proud.
Over the past summer, I had the opportunity of going to Candance's National Title Competition in Orlando, Florida and was crowned Senior Miss Candance 2017. I also had the opportunity to travel and learn from some amazing inspiring mentors.
As I enter into my senior year of high school, I endeavour to pursue a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts with a major in dance. Maybe one day you'll be able to see me on Broadway...a girl's gotta dream!
As a single mother, my mom has been working tirelessly to support our family, and my dreams of pursuing dance as a career. I am so grateful for all her sacrifices and the unconditional love and support she provides my little sister, Alliah, and I. We have been blessed to be surrounded by incredible, generous, and encouraging people. All this has made it possible for me to pursue my dream of becoming a professional dancer.
I am reaching out in hopes of raising funds to offset the costs of travel and accommodations, costumes, rehearsal and choreography fees, as well as Team Canada Apparel. I deeply appreciate any amount of donation or prayers that you may offer. Furthermore, if you would like to be a sponsor with a tax deductible donation of $100 or more, I will be able to send you an official tax receipt.
