Sams Surgeries & Medical Bills

Last Tuesday, Sam was in his 1st period PE, playing and exercising. However, by his 2nd period class, he began to look pale and his teacher sent him to the nurse where, after a quick observation, she called Sam's mother, Jamie. Jamie picked him up from school and took him home to care for him. She scheduled a doctor's appointment for Sam but his condition worsened quickly, and they rushed to the hospital well before the appointment to find that his lung had collapsed. The doctors rushed Sam to surgery to insert a tube in the attempt to reinflate his lung and reposition his heart into the proper location. Since his initial admittance into the hospital, Sam has not responded positively to additional care and surgery. Howard (dad) and Jamie are self pay but, in the event of child care, insurance and coverage always take a back seat to the care of a child.
We have set up this fund to help them focus on Sam and see that he gets better. He has been transferred to Childrens Hospital in Temple tonight for Pediatraic Specialists to take care of him and heal him. We are praying for Sam for a speedy recovery so he can come back home and get back to being a kid again.
Howard and Jamie, along with their family, are dear friends of ours. We met in a bowling league last summer and Roy and Howard have developed a close relationship both as friends and fellow businessmen in the BCS community. They are one of the most family oriented families we've met and the picture is even them making sure they didn't miss "family game night Friday" by bringing the games to Scott and White. Howard owns Amen Glass and has found a true home in College Station with the overwhelming professional and personal support of the local community.
We want to do whatever we can to make sure Sam returns to a healthy, rambunctious 11, almost 12 year old boy and that Howard and Jamie do not have to worry about their medical expenses while they ensure the health of one of their children. We appreciate everything you can do to take care of our friends.
