Solar System Rebuild For Jose Roman

Our dear friends and neighbor, Jose & Nelly Roman were one of the millions of Puerto Rican's affected by Hurricane Maria. Anyone who knows Jose knows of his constant care and concern for his family and neighbors. He is the heart of his neighborhood, Vista Azul, where our family has a home also. Rincon is known as the surf capital of Puerto Rico, and the community has long been home to many expats as well as the local Puerto Rican community. Jose has been a pillar of that community since moving back to Puerto Rico in 1979. Although his family was spared the worst of the damage, the loss of power island wide is an on-going concern. Joses 96 year old mother-in-law is weak and relies on a steady supply of electricity to stay alive. Fortunately, Jose is already set up with a solar system at his home, but is in need of a new battery storage system. In the midst of feeling hopeless and overwhelmed about how best to support Puerto Rican's in this time of need, we know that by supporting Jose, we can make one small, tangible step towards returning life to normal for all of the islanders. One constant reliable source of electricity in neighborhoods and communities around Puerto Rico could go a long way in easing the hardship that everyone is facing. By helping Jose to get new batteries for his solar system, we can help one neighborhood, both now in this time of crisis, and going forward into the bright future that we pray Puerto Rico is rebuilding towards.
