Nova's Rehabilitation Fund

Donation protected

Nova was a stray on the streets of Brooklyn for who knows how long. She was taken to the Animal Control Center, and, because of her medical condition and age (7 yrs old), she was assigned to the "kill list" and supposed to be put down August 12.

In a video of Nova that I saw on Twitter, I was struck by how sweet she seemed, and how utterly hopeless her situation. Her coloring and sweet demeanor reminded me of my current dog Ruby. In another life, this could have been Ruby's fate if I hadn't adopted her as a puppy.

I decided to adopt Nova in order to save her life and give her a second chance at Love. She came home with us on Monday, August 14.  Now the long road to recovery begins.

I don't know yet all the medical expenses that Nova will need, but she is in very poor shape. She has a non-malignant tumor that needs to be removed. She needs to be spayed. She has kennel cough and a skin condition. Most pressing of all, though, she needs FOOD and lots of TLC.

Hopefully, with your help, I can save her life and get her thriving again. We live in Catskill, NY, a beautiful area full of fields, forests, creeks and mountain air. It's a great place for a dog to rehabilitate and have a great life!

All money raised will go towards her care. I will post updates as she rehabilites and send you pictures of her progress.

Thank you for helping this special girl!
