My name is Matthew Pokung and I am a member of the First Robotics Team 3008 Magma. Our team recently went to the FRC Southern Cross regional in Sydney Australia. We won the "Engineering Inspiration" award for inspiring engineering to younger generations. This award qualifies our team for the World Championship in Houston Texas.
This is my first year on the team and I have filled it with learning and great experiences. In order to travel with the team to the competition, you have to show interest in the robot and the team, have a large amount of work time. I've devoted all of my time to the team whether it be for outreach, demos, building, or competition.
The World Competition is from April 18-21. On the trip, we will not only be competing but exploring Houston, visiting other teams workshops, and attending all of FRC's events. With the support from you, I will be able to experience all of these amazing events and come closer to my dream of becoming an Astronaut.
