Cancer treatment lodging & expenses

March 1, 2018 or so I will be starting a 5 day/wk, for 7 weeks, regimen of radiation & chemo for lung cancer that is now stage 3 in my lymph node. I have a great group of doctors at Highland Oncology in Fayetteville, Ar but it is a 4 hour drive one way for me so I am needing help with weekly lodging, fuel & food expenses. I am a single woman. Several years ago I was forced to take an early retirement do to my health issues associated with the the cancer & I now live on my social security. It is very difficult for me to ask for any assistance but especially from strangers because I’ve always been a hard worker and self sufficient lady. Please know that I am very grateful for every dollar donated to help me & I will pay it forward every chance I can.

As her daughters we would like for everyone to know a few things about our mom:

For as long as we can remember Mom has tirelessly volunteered for so many causes, from being a softball/band/choir Mom when us girls were younger to being a football/cheerleading Grandma with her grandchildren. She spent many years and countless hours as a team leader volunteering for the March of Dimes walk-a-thon in the 90's. After returning to Arkansas she immediately jumped on board to volunteer for The American Cancer Society Relay for Life for several years. For the last several years she has volunteered with the Protectors Motorcycle Association doing toy runs, back packs for less fortunate children and numerous events benefiting American Veterans. Her kind and generous heart has always led her to help others. Now she needs our help, whether it's a $5 donation or a prayer in her name or a quick word of support or encouragement, your support means more than you ever know to all of us.
