My sister's breast cancer surgeries

Dear family and friends, a couple weeks ago (early October 2017) I received news that "only happens to other people". My sister, Julie (on the right), was diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm still in some disbelief as I write this but the MRIs, blood work and biopsy have confirmed it. I don't think we're ever ready as humans to hear the news that we or someone very close to us has CANCER.

Based on the biopsy and imaging, the medical team has recommended a double masectomy to remove the cancer in Julie's body.  Her oncologists have indicated  that Julie will require 4 months of chemo and some radiation therapy after her bilateral masctectomies to ensure the cancer has been eradicated from her body.  Therefore, the 2nd surgery, bilateral breast reconstruction,  will be scheduled in 2018.   The type of insurance they have (it's a form of Obamacare) requires a $10,000 deductible per individual per year. 

Because Julie's treatment will require 2 separate surgeries, several months apart and into a new calendar year, the deductible has to be met twice.   Hence, $20,000.00 is needed.

My sister Julie  and her family (husband Todd and 4 beautiful children) recently just  got out of debt after diligently paying it down over years. This year, their oldest child started her freshman year of college.  As a result, they don't have any savings.  Julie, Todd and their family are Christians and have an incredible faith in God.  God has always worked miracles in their lives to take care of the various needs that have come up during their life together and they are trusting Him in this very difficult time as well. 

Many of you have already asked how you can help. Well, ask no further, with modern technology, this is how you can help:

1) Please pray every day for Julie, Todd and the family to trust Him and not lose hope.

2) Please send whatever you can financially, whatever your heart is telling you, to help offset the deductible costs for these two major surgeries. No amount is too small.

$10,000.00 is needed ASAP for surgery scheduled for November 2, 2017 and $10,000.00 more a couple of months after that. Also, this amount is just for the surgeries and doesn't include the myriad of tests and doctor visits that go with diagnosing and treating her breast cancer. 

So, $20,000.00 is the minimum needed but any extra will be greatly appreciated.
