HELP ALEXIS - Harvey Flooded Home

Donation protected
Update:  FEMA trailer has been sitting in front of my Mom's house for a month and they won't get it hooked up so that my Mom and sister can occupy it.   It has a full kitchen that they could be using but instead they are utilizing a camping stove in the back yard.  The home health nurse has to pull up my sister's shirt and examine her in the drive way because they won't go into the house.

My mom,  Alexis Froemling  will be 74 years old next month and was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey that recently hit the Houston area.  Her and my sister were rescued from her house by boat at 10:30 PM in the dark with water up to their waist at the time.  They made it out by the grace of God with a dog under each arm and not much else.

The infectious flood water, contaminated with sewage, rose to about five feet high in her home, they had to throw out everything and strip it down to the studs.  Her car was in the driveway and was also lost as was my sister's.  Can you imagine losing everything that you have worked so hard for as a single woman at the age of 74?

Never in her wildest imagination did she anticipate the flood waters to rise like they did.  She doesn't live in a flood zone and in 20 years  it has never flooded up to the house even when the last hurricane hit.   She lost just about everything that day because like so many other Houstonians didn't have the extra flood insurance on her policy.

She lost  everything in her kitchen, dinning room furniture, dishes, cabinets, flooring, ovens, dishwasher, refrigerator; everything in her laundry room, washer and dryer; everything in her office, computer, desk, important papers, everything in her living room, couches, chairs, flooring, TV, entertainment equipment, everything in her master bed room, her bed, TV, dressers, nighstands, furniture, everything in her bathrooms, toiletries, towels, all of her clothes, shoes, everything is GONE!

I am setting up this fund for my Mom to help get her back on her feet.  I am hoping that there are enough people out there that would like to help a hurricane victim and know that their donation made a difference in someone's life.  My Mom is the hardest working woman that I know and worked very hard to raise us kids, working multiple jobs,  and build what was a nice home for herself.

My name is Renee and I'm the oldest of Alexis' three kids and live in Maryland.  I am setting this up so that Mom has direct access to your donations and will be able purchase immediate human necessities and get her home liveable again.

Please help to make a difference in someone's life.  Even a small donation will help.  Thank you for caring!

This is my Mom, about five years ago with two of her Grandchildren.

The damage to the kitchen was too bad to save anything.

Debris along the side of her house.

Pulled everything out.

Ken cleaning the smelly pool.

Grandson with 2 of the 10 fish that they pulled out of the pool.
