Hi everyone! As many of you know our Mom is a 17 year ovarian cancer survivor. Through her battle she has endured 8 surgeries and multiple rounds of chemo. All along she has tried to work full time and be the amazing wife, mother and Babcia we know.
We just received news that the tumor has grown and they are changing course of treatment. We continue to pray that these tumors will just go away!
Throughout these 17 years, there have been many trips to Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. My mother's two surgeons and oncologist are located here. Each of these appointments are exhausting. It's usually a very early wake up to miss all the traffic. Then it's a long day for my Mother who gets poked and proded with hopes of good news. Ofcourse we support her, so there is always someone else with her. We do our best to keep the day light in mood and ask any questions that we can think of.
Needless to say, these appointments can get costly. Just the money for the tolls, parking and any meals adds up quickly. We added up just parking for one year and it was almost $1,000....that's just for parking! Luckily, my Mother does have health insurance, but it does not pay for everything. There are always doctor bills coming in.
Our family wants to try to take as much financial burden off our Mother as possible. We want her to focus on fighting, winning, enjoying life as much as possible. She's fought so hard and for so long that we don't want her quality of life to lessen because of finances. Any amount of donation that you can give towards my Mother's cancer fund, our family would greatly appreciate it.
