<div>Many of you already know our beloved cat, Zissou, who we adopted shortly after we married and picked up on the way home from our honeymoon. For fifteen years, Zissou has been the perfect cat with no health problems - at his vet checkup in 2024, the vet pronounced him a perfectly healthy cat! 

</div>

<div>About a month ago, we discovered some swelling in his leg. Tests revealed that Zissou had an aggressive, localized cancer. When further testing showed the cancer had not spread and Zissou remained a perfectly healthy cat otherwise, we moved forward with treating the cancer by full leg amputation. 

</div>

<div>We asked ourselves whether it was worth it to treat a cat already fifteen years old, but Zissou's age health-wise is much younger, and he is indeed the perfect cat. 

</div>

</div>

<div>Testing and the surgery have put some financial strain on our household in times that are already difficult. We understand if you are not able to help financially, but please share with others who may be in a better position to help.
