<li>Hi my name is Sarah and I am fundraising for my 10 week old puppy Zeus. He became a part of the family on August 6th. He is normally a very happy and crazy little puppy. On Thursday August 26th he went to the vet for his regular puppy shots and a general check up. He came home acting completely normal and crazy as usual. Thursday night he threw up. Friday he threw up all day and stopped eating and drinking. By Saturday I took him to an emergency vet. They gave him fluids and told me it was just a vaccine reaction. On Sunday he perked up in the morning and ate a bit. Then afternoon time hit and he starting throwing up again and was completely lethargic. I rushed him to his vet Monday morning and they ran some tests and diagnosed him with Leptospirosis. This put his kidneys into failure. His kidney and liver levels are off the charts. They recommended me to take him to an ICU for 24 hour care. I took him as recommended and they have hope for him, but he has a 50/50 chance of survival at this point. If he makes progress within the next 48 hours there is hope, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some permanent damage already done. This care is critical to give him a fighting chance, but the cost is steep. I was given an estimate of $5,000.00 and that will only cover his care for the next three days. They are guessing he will have to be there for a week, maybe more. If you can help in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Even if you just send prayers his way I will forever be greatful!
