<div>If you know Zane, you probably have a story. Maybe he fixed your truck or shared an abalone, some tuna, or a piece of backstrap. Maybe he had you laughing with one of his stories or rolling your eyes at his spicy opinions. He most definitely has boasted to you about his grandkids. Zane has spent his life working hard, helping others, and giving back. He has been a fixture at the UC Hopland Research and Extension Center for almost 20 years and was approaching retirement when life threw him a huge curveball: stage 4 bone cancer.

<div>His biggest worry is not himself but Lisa, his wife, and their granddaughter Breila, whom they are raising. Medical bills and all the associated expenses can wipe a family out faster than any storm, and we want to take that weight off his shoulders so he can focus on fighting this fight. Zane is a proud man who would never ask for help, but he has given his time, skill, warmth, and laughter to so many of us over the years.
