Help Zander realize his dream to play international rugby
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Shaun Oosthuizen and my nephew, Zander Oosthuizen was recently selected to represent his country, South Africa, at the under 19 age level. Unfortunately, they have to pay to play and the opportunity for him to realize his dream could be taken away if he cannot come up with the funds. This is a lifelong dream for Zander, and both my brother, Charl (Zander's dad) and I know how it feels to have our rugby careers cut short because we could not afford to keep playing. Zander recently lost his Ouma (Grandma), Debbie, who was his biggest supporter. He will be playing in her honour. I believe sport can change lives, and I want to see my nephew have the opportunity his father and I couldn't have due to the economic circumstances for us and our parents in our home country.
Zander has traveled 13 hours by bus to Pretoria from his home in a small town in the Eastern Cape for the selection ceremony where he will receive his first cap and Green and Gold colours to play for his country. He will then travel with the team to Romania (which will be his first time on an airplane) to begin their international tour and show the world what he can do on the field.
The funds we raise will all go to Zander's rugby and travel fees. The fees for this tour are R50,000 which is approximately $5,000CAD. Anything raised over the goal will help Zander with equipment and necessities as he tours.
Your support will help change a young man's life. A heartfelt thank you in advance.
