Help Zack and Family on Road to Recovery

As many of you already know, my name is Sharon Weir, I am Zack's mom. First and foremost- I’d like to thank everyone who has reached out, supported, and even assisted with any leads in finding the individual responsible for hitting my son. We will never give up on getting Zack the justice he deserves. I am not the most tech savvy person, so if I have not had the chance to respond to each and every one of you, I am truly thankful for all of your love and support.
On Friday, July 16, 2021, our world was turned up side down and my son became a victim of a hit & run. While on a walk with his youngest nephew, at approximately 9pm, a small white/silver SUV sped down South Bay Rd (C.D. Owasco Ave), headed towards Rt. 31. This vehicle hit my son Zack. While we are so thankful Zack is alive and here today. My son was hit by a speeding vehicle, thrown over the top of it (leaving both pairs of shoes on the road), and flew into a ditch. By the grace of God, my grandson was unharmed, and was there with Zack. This disgrace of a human left my son and grandson on the side of the road. They didn’t bother to stop and see if they were ok.
What’s ahead. Zack has multiple broken bones in his foot, awful abrasions covering the entire left half of his body, chunks of skin missing from his elbow/knees, and over 70 stitches in his facial area. Tomorrow (7/26/21), Zack will undergo one, of many foot surgeries ahead.
Moving forward please continue to be on the look out for a small, white/silver SUV with front damage that looks out of the ordinary. No lead is too big or too small. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department is the reporting agency, so any information needs to be sent to their tip line. What the future holds.
Over the last several months, I have had custody of my three young grandchildren. While I would work, Zack would help take care of them. This senseless incident has made an incredibly negative impact on our family dynamic. Due the the nature of the situation, I am unable to work due to having to be the primary care giver for Zack, as well as my grandchildren. While asking for help is not in my nature, I realize while being out of work, times ahead are not looking the brightest.
