HELP YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH during COVID19

Donation protected
COVID19 has created the worst youth mental health crisis in our lifetimes, globally.

The world is in the midst of a Covid19-created youth mental health downward spiral the magnitude of which has led to ailments such as isolation, fear, and hopelessness. Youth depression has risen 400% from its rate in 2019; anxiety in youth has risen over 300% (CDC). The same report found that 26% of youth ages 18 to 24 had considered suicide in the 30 days leading up to the study.

Urgent Struggle:

Youth of all ages have suffered emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially. Many children and young adults fortunate enough to have access are receiving mental health services through clinical and community agencies, including schools.  Due to Covid19, youth with pre-existing mental health challenges - as well as those experiencing these for the first time and at-risk of declining wellbeing - can no longer easily get these services externally and more likely may have to struggle with symptoms like anxiety and depression on their own - worse, often not informing parents who may miss the signs of a child trying to cope. Many, feeling the tension of being quarantined largely at home with family for the past 10 months don’t feel comfortable talking to their parents or siblings and have grown sad and miserable, often distant and irritable at home.

Results from the 2019 Youth Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System show that in the past year 18.8% of high school students seriously considered attempting suicide and 8.9% attempted suicide. These are staggering statistics. These numbers will likely continue to grow as students stay in lockdown away from other friends at school and an outlet for expression and in person physical connection.

Solution:

Our organization, Uplifting Ventures, creator of the 'SDGs Challenge', an international program supporting worldwide solutions to the 17 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, has created an uplifting activity book comprised of 18 teens from 6 continents sharing their stories of 'downs and ups' this year.  "Resilient Youth: Emotional Wellbeing in the Wake of the Covid-19 Global Pandemic" is full of uplifting activities for inspiration and introspection. It's thought provoking self-help guide for teens and serves as a journal, coloring and doodle book and yearbook (a memento for 2020 for the day when we can look back and not cry).

We are raising funds so we can GIVE AWAY this book to AS MANY YOUTH in NEED of uplift as possible in the MOST heavily hit cities and nations New York to New Dehli; Paris to Peru; Bogota to Bologna; Sao Paolo to Sheffield; Madrid to Mexico City to Moscow -- and all points in between affected by the Covid-19 pandemic this past year.

This book is NOT going to be an answer for everyone, nor will it cure deep mental challenges. It's not written by doctors. It is written with contributions of four experts -a therapist, a PhD in Medical Molecular Biology, an emotional-intelligence education practitioner, and a youth specialist and father of four boys.  It has 5 stars and is ranked in 90th percentile, #1,195 in Self-Help/Inspiration on Amazon

This book IS a resource for youth to help put this past year into perspective while aiming to get kids to "open up" in their own creative and thoughtful ways. The book's countless activities can be completed solo or with their friends (online). It's got pep and aims to serve as a reminder that no one, no  person is alone in this mental health fight that is affecting us all on some level.

*The holidays are often stressful for many in good years, now moreso in 2020.  Our campaign timing is now critical and our book has just been published.

Objective:           *** GIVE AWAY minimum 2,000 books ***

100% of donations go to the cost of getting copies of the book in the hands of teens (through schools, community centers, youth non-profits, and mental health experts/doctors offices). We will also leave books in waiting rooms of hospitals, clinics, and other treatment centers and with your kind contributions, books will be rendered free. Will you please help youth who may be struggling this past year?

ANY AMOUNT IS HELPFUL. The books cost us net/landed $8.20 each plus shipping (the more books to one location, the more we can send as we save on shipping) A $25 contribution allows us to ship 2 books; $100 , $250, $500 allows us to ship 10, 25, 50 books and so on.

(The book retails for $16.95 so if you wish to simply Purchase a book outright  for your own loved one(s) you can use this link here.            Link:    https://cutt.ly/3hnWGRA    Our small royalty we reinvest into more books that we give away :)
