Xariah was born at 32 weeks via emergency c section. After birth she spent 6 weeks in the NICU. Her stay at the NICU was touch and go for a while. During her stay in the NICU she had a brain hemorrhage and her blood wouldn’t coagulate. She needed a blood platelet transfusion. With her dads donations the Dr was able to save her. Once the transfusion was done the Doctors saw that she had Periventricular Leukomalacia, which could mean that she had Cerebral Palsy.
As time went on she was diagnosed with strabismus, hard of hearing and at 10 months of age, Quadriplegic Spastic Cerebral Palsy.
Since her release from the NICU she has had Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. All her therapy plus equipment have been quite expensive but the biggest expense we have encountered are the ramp that our home needs and a handicap accessible vehicle that we require. She is still small enough for us to pick up but she is growing and soon that wont be an option. We are hoping that with generous donations we will be able to afford to have a ramp installed on our home and be able to buy a handicap accessible vehicle to continue taking Xariah to her much needed therapy sessions.
