ORIGINAL STORY BELOW

X (anonymous to avoid jeopardizing their position) is a fixture in our HLS community, dedicating themselves to ensuring that students are in the best position to succeed despite the rigors of law school. Unfortunately, last year, X endured a traumatic physical interaction with another employee, which detrimentally impacted their ability to focus on their work. X has even expressed that the incident was reminiscent of past abuses they endured in their childhood, only contributing to the lasting traumatizing effect that it has had on them. Consequently, X has been unable to adequately do what they love most: helping support the students and faculty members they care about so deeply.

To mentally recover from this traumatic incident, X had no choice but to take an extended leave of absence. Because of this, they incurred significant legal, medical, and living expenses that they are currently struggling to pay.

Despite having since returned to work at HLS, X is still facing a difficult financial situation this holiday season. X has asked Harvard management for help with covering the cost of these expenses stemming from this traumatic incident, but to no avail. X has been disappointed by Harvard management’s refusal to help with any of the costs, even though they are the result of employee misconduct in the workplace.
