Help Women & Children in Western Ukraine

Since we have close ties with Ukraine, many people have expressed interest in helping those displaced from the war, specifically which charities we would recommend.  There are a lot of organizations out there, and most of them support refugees reaching the border with Poland (which is still needed), but it's harder to find opportunities to help the people remaining in Ukraine. 

 

We are still friends with the lawyer/coordinator who helped us when we were in Ukraine 11 years ago adopting our 2 boys. He is currently in Western Ukraine and is buying food, clothing and supplies for women and children in shelters there. Some people are passing through on their way to the border, but most of them are staying because they don't want to leave their husbands, elderly parents, and other family members behind.

 

We plan to send him donations periodically, and he will send us photo/video updates.

We think this is a great opportunity to send help directly to the people who need it without overhead costs. Everyone involved is volunteering.
