I need lower back surgery, but I must lose weight first to qualify for the operation. My insurance doesn’t cover my expensive medications, and the mounting hospital and doctor bills have left me beyond broke. I am grateful to God that I still have a roof over my head, but I live alone and struggle to keep up with daily tasks. Even taking out the trash is taxing, and the stress and worry have taken a toll on my mental and spiritual health. Sometimes, I go days without eating because I simply can’t afford it.
