Help Wolf Pack Baseball Pay for their Rings!

Donation protected

Hi, On behalf of the baseball coaches of Ridgeview High School, our program needs help to fund the purchase of our Valley and State championship rings!

Our school serves a low-income minority population in Southwest Bakersfield. For most of our boys, any additional expenses beyond their family budgets is a hardship. But for what these boys lack in wealth or opportunity, they make up for it with hard work and dedication to the game they love.

Our boys worked tremendously hard all season in the most unusual circumstances. They attended school for most of the year from home computers checked out to them by the school, as COVID-19 prevented us from learning in person. The unique school year experience also prevented us from fundraising as a program. With no students or teachers on campus, and no face to face communication with our boys, we had no traditional means to raise funds for the season.

The boys still managed to sharpen their individual skills and keep themselves in shape while they were not allowed to congregate at the school. Once it was announced that they would would be allowed to play baseball this school year, the boys met on their own to practice their skills and build team chemistry. In the 17 years that we have led this baseball program, we have never seen a group of boys who worked as hard as this.

Their hard work paid off. Our boys were forced to play in the toughest league in Kern County against much more talented teams than their own. Throughout this rigorous schedule, the team always gave themselves opportunities to win games against the best teams. They were undefeated against teams in Division 2 or lower, and managed to win two games against the Division 1 teams they faced along with a number of extra innings and 1 run losses. This daunting schedule prepared them for the Division 3 Central Section playoffs where they would win four straight games (two on the road) to claim a Valley Championship.

The journey would not end here however, as the team was invited to play in the first ever Southern California State Championship tournament. In this tournament, the Wolf Pack would prove to be an unstoppable force, winning improbable games against more talented teams than themselves. In the championship game against a team from Simi Valley, 11th grader Jacob Gutierrez would hit a go ahead Grand Slam in the 5th inning, and 10th grader Bradley Perez would not allow another run in route to a State Championship for the Ridgeview Wolf Pack.

These boys worked tremendously hard all season. They played up against the highest talent and they came out victorious. The excitement and joy of those two victories was indescribable. As a coaching staff, we want to gift these boys with something that will forever remind them of this experience.

Please help us in funding Championship Rings for our boys!
