Help with Tina's Medical and Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
Tina Marie Higdon (Hall/Cook) fought a courageous battle against alcoholism.  She moved back home to Illinois in 2020 to receive treatment for alcohol addiction.  She was so determined to get her health back and she was so proud of the work she did.  Unfortunately, as with many addictions, Tina relapsed.  Her body was unable to handle it, and she had been in the ICU since February 22, 2022.  On March 16, 2022, Tina and the family made the decision to bring her home on hospice care. Tina passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 18, 2022 surrounded by her family.

If you know Tina, I guarantee she touched your life in some positive way.  She loved to lift others up and would drop anything to help someone in need.  So many times she would make sure that others had what they needed before she worried about herself.

If you are able to help, any donations will be going to the family.  Tina is survived by her three children, Lexi, Brady and Caily.  The kids have had to miss a large amount of work to spend time with their mom. Tina’s parents and sisters have had a lot of extra expenses and missed work over the last few weeks.  Unfortunately, a funeral is also going to be needed in the near future.  Anything you are able to offer will help.

Addiction is real.  Addiction is ugly.  You never think that something this drastic will happen to your family, but we have parents getting ready to lose their daughter, sisters about to lose their big sis, three kiddos about to lose their mama, nieces and nephews about to lose their Aunt Tina, and numerous others about to lose a friend.  If you know someone struggling with addiction, be patient.  Be there to listen and love.  Encourage them to get help.  Be there with them every step of the way.  Sometimes it may not be enough, but realize that this absolutely can happen to someone you love.
