Help with Roland's NICU Expenses

This fundraiser is to help Kelley and Ron Harvey with the overwhelming amount of medical bills and miscellaneous fees they will incur during Roland's NICU stay. Roland was healthy and almost ready to go home, but got horribly sick when he was just a few days old and had to be airlifted to Children's Hospital in Peoria, IL. Roland has undergone numerous tests as his healthcare providers scramble to figure out what is wrong with him. He was pumped full of antibiotics and platelets, but his platelet levels continue to be dangerously low and he had to be resuscitated multiple times before being placed on a ventilator. As of today, he has been diagnosed with meningitis, but he is not responding to treatment yet. His platelets are still incredibly low and he is still septic. Throughout Roland's pregnancy, Kelley was also forced to miss multiple days of work due to being admitted to the hospital for monitoring and constant traveling for weekly ultrasounds and appointments with her OB doctor. The Children’s Hospital is an hour away from Kelley and Ron’s home and they are making trips back and forth in order to spend time and care for their children at home, Amelia and Mara.

I have known Kelley and Ron for years--they are wonderful people and exceptional parents. They never ask for anything, and even when they are completely overwhelmed, you will never hear them complain. I watched Kelley and Ron suffer immensely after they lost their first child, Addison, and it’s heartbreaking to watch them venture into another nightmare as Roland fights for his life. I hope Roland will be healthy and home sooner rather than later, at this time, we do not know what the outcome will be and how long he will be stuck in the NICU. I want Kelley and Ron to focus on getting their baby boy healthy and home to be with his family and not stressing about their financial future.
