Help Selma Recover from her Stroke

Donation protected
On March 6th, my 78-year-old mother Selma was visiting me in Los Angeles when she suffered a major stroke. She spent 25 days in the hospital recuperating, and has since come to stay with me until we can find her long-term housing.

In the near-term, she needs round-the-clock care, physical therapy and access to life-saving medication. I have been acting as her sole caregiver. While I'm doing my best to help her, my time and resources are very limited. Her current Medicare will cover a portion of these costs, but for the long-term treatment, she will incur tremendous expenses just to stay alive and healthy.

To say that this has been devastating to our family is an understatement. My mother receives Social Security, and prior to this incident, she was working a full-time job just to make ends meet. Now she is unable to supplement her fixed income, so we're asking for your help to make sure she gets the care she needs.

Selma has been hard-working and independent her whole life, so this situation has been incredibly difficult for her. She's also a person of tremendous faith, so she appreciates both your contributions and your prayers.

Thank you,

Stephen Ruiz and Selma Dreyer
