Help with my father's end of life cost
Hello, my name is Alex Nieves. My father, Jesus Nieves, took his last breath today, September 15, 2021 at 11:50 a.m. He had been suffering from kidney failure which caused his lungs to fill-up with fluid. My dad had been placed on hospice care since the end of August as the doctors had indicated there was not much they could do due to his frail condition. Call it coincidence or divine intervention but today was the 14th anniversary of my mother's death. My sister and I want to believe our mother did not want to see him suffering anymore and asked God to call him to his side.
My sister and I are the only children my dad has and the ones dealing with this situation. He worked as a chef for many years but never thought of putting some money aside for his end of life expenses. He did buy life insurance but in reviewing the documents, he got scammed because the policy will pay about $300, he would have to live to be 121 for his beneficiaries to receive the full $20,000 benefit.
My sister an I want to honor his memory by providing a service for friends and family and then taking him to his native Puerto Rico where he can rest for eternity. We kindly ask for donations to help us with his end of life costs.
Creating this page has been the most difficult decision we had to make and we are writing this with pain in our hearts. We appreciate any assistance provided. My sister and I thank you for the bottom of our hearts.

Mi padre, Jesús Nieves, tomo su ultimo aliento hoy 15 de septiember del 2021 a las 11: 50 a.m. Había estado sufriendo una insuficiencia renal que provocó que sus pulmones se llenaran de líquido. Mi padre había sido puesto en cuidados paliativos desde finales de agosto, ya que los médicos habían indicado que no podían hacer mucho debido a su frágil condición. Llámelo coincidencia o intervención divina, pero hoy hace 14 años que i madre fallecio. Mi hermana y yo queremos creer que nuestra madre no quería verlo sufrir más y le pidió a Dios que se lo llavara a su lado.
Mi hermana y yo somos los únicos hijos que tiene mi papá y los que estamos lidiando con esta situación. El trabajó como chef durante muchos años, pero nunca pensó en apartar algo de dinero para sus gastos del final de su vida. Compró un seguro de vida, pero al revisar las clausulas, nos dimos cuenta que lo estafaron porque la póliza pagará alrededor de $ 300, tendría que vivir hasta los 121 años para que sus beneficiarios reciban el beneficio completo de $ 20,000.
