Munu is like a mother to me. When I came to volunteer at the school she and her husband Chiran run for the first time in 2013, she treated me with the same kindness and care as she would her own son.
In the years since then, I have been continually awed by the love and care with which she treats everyone. She and Chiran created the Underprivileged Children of Nepal Foundation , which provides not only education, but also food, counseling, and a place in their family to children in need. Munu and Chiran pay for most of the children's expenses out of their own pockets and treat them as part of their own family.
I have seen firsthand how Munu and Chiran care for these children as if they were their own, and how the children's lives have been forever changed due to their love and strong belief that they can succeed.
Munu has spent her life giving to others out of true love and compassion. Now, she is in a time of need.
The costs of medical treatment, as well as travel to and from Delhi for six cycles of chemotherapy and follow-up, are immense. This has put such a load on them that they are struggling to pay for it all, to continue paying for their daughter's education (she has been studying medicine), and to maintain the scholarships for the children that they support.
Munu and Chiran spent their wedding anniversary in the hospital, but they continue to have an outlook of gratitude and acceptance. They are some of the bravest and most compassionate people I have ever known. They have faced hardship before and have come out of it with gratitude and a deepening desire to help others.
In Nepal you can buy a meal for a dollar and a night at a hotel for two dollars. That is to say, even the smallest donation will help. The money will be used to cover the medical and travel costs, to maintain the scholarships of the children they support, and to keep paying for their daughter's education.
Your help will not go unnoticed. I thank you, deeply, from the bottom of my heart, for any help you are able to give.
If you're unable to donate, sharing on social media would be a good way of helping.
Thank you, and blessings.
