Help with medical & traveling costs

Hello, My name is Holly Peck! I am fundraising for My brother Brian Peck and his family while he undergoes more treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer. Some of you know, Brian was diagnosed couple years ago with stage 4 cancer. He went through chemo and radiation treatments. He got his port taken out this past January 2021 on his birthday. Cancer free! They have been continuing to keep an eye on everything and doing tests and turns out his cancer is back and in some new locations. He had a biopsy done and it’s back! He went to Buffalo 11/23 to see what the next step is.

“We received A LOT of info which is what we were hoping for. We met with a lot of different people and it sounds like they have a pretty solid plan going forward. We received some good news and some news we weren’t expecting, but overall I was impressed with Roswell and we really liked everyone we met.

I’ll try to give you the condensed version…

3 ish months of chemo (this is the part we weren’t expecting. It sounds like the chemo will most likely be 3 days inpatient at Buffalo every 3 weeks) this is because the cancer is so advanced that they don’t think the inpatient chemo before the stem cell transplant will get rid of everything, so he needs more treatment

full body radiation (we weren’t expecting this part either but… ‍♀️)

stem cell collection for a week in Buffalo (this is assuming that they can use his own stem cells and he doesn’t need a donor, let’s pray hard for this to happen because if he needs a donor it makes the situation a lot more complicated)

intense inpatient chemo (like 5x stronger) in the hospital in Buffalo for a week

stem cell transplant followed by 4ish weeks in the hospital to recover (pray for this part too bc right now no kids are allowed to visit, and this long being without the girls isn’t good for Bri or the girls)

2 weeks staying in Buffalo (with 24/7 care) after discharge so he is close to the hospital

GO HOME!!!

Of course in between is all sorts of evaluations, testing, blood counts, blood work, shots, and the list goes on and on.

So this experience is most likely going to take us to summer time. To say we have a long road ahead of us in an understatement but I’m confident that this is the fresh start that Brian’s body needs. After this his immune system is going to be like that of a newborn baby and he will have to be sooooo careful because he will have no line of defense.

I’m sure I forgot a few things but that’s the gist of it! Keep praying and sending all your positive thoughts our way! Thank you to everyone for having so much love and for caring so much about Bri❤️
