Help With Loki's Vet Bills & At Home Care

Donation protected

On Sunday May 9th, Loki was playing fetch with his owner Kristen when he fell and couldn't get back up. Crawling into Kristen's lap as she held him to figure out what was wrong.

After an overnight stay at the vet, the doctors think he suffered a spinal injury causing his back legs to become paralyzed. He has lost the use of his hind legs but the doctors don't know how permanent it is.

Kristen's parents were able to pay for a $3,500 MRI procedure that is scheduled for Tuesday May 11th.

This GoFundMe is in hopes to raise money to offset the vet costs to help Loki through this devastating injury.

Estimated Cost:

$3,500 MRI
$8,000 Surgery
$1,000 Dog Wheel Chair
$1,000 At Home Care Needs

This is for an immediate need, as Loki is currently hospitalized, so please consider a donation today.

Who is Loki and what does he mean to Kristen and others?

Loki has been Kristen's best friend since she got him for free from a farm in Northern Michigan, almost 12 years ago. He was a puppy from a litter of wild and rambunctious brothers and sisters, but he was the lone pup who was more curious of the grass and the trees than to care about a couple strangers who just showed up on his property.

Just old enough to leave the litter, Kristen picked him up and instantly fell in love with the young pup. She would go on to move cross country with him to Central Connecticut, where for the past 12 years they have been constantly adventuring.

Loki loves the outdoors, from dog parks to hiking trails- he is the most well behaved and trained dog. Constantly curious, but always within the presence of Kristen.

For Kristen, he has always been there for her. From the ups and downs in life, Loki has always had the love for her that she could rely on. He has been her rock, and right now from this injury all she can do is what ever it takes to hold on to him.

But it's not just her who has been impacted by Loki, everyone who meets him falls in love. He is a sweet pup, who is incredible and feels others moods to provide them comfort. He even has his own facebook page, that Kristen started for him many years ago and regularly posts pictures of their adventures together --> Click Here

Monetary help from this GoFundMe would be an incredible blessing to Loki

It's easy to look at the cost of the vet bills and question it. Right now Loki is still here, his legs might be paralyzed but the loving personality is still strong. He can make it through this, he is strong willed and the injury hasn't affected his overall health.

Before this injury he was the pinnacle of health, fed well and exercised daily. Even at his age he hadn't lost a step, and could go on for another 8 years according to life expectancy for his breed.

Regardless, this is Kristen's child and the community coming together to help her in a time of need could amount to a major miracle for Loki.

There is so much love for this good boy, why not be part of the miracle to come from this tragedy.
