On Dec. 27th, Loki became ill/vomiting, lethargic, stopped eating, and wouldn't drink water. As the night went on, he became unable to go to the bathroom and eventually started to urinate blood. I rushed him to the emergency clinic 30 minutes away. The initial cost was $410 and they diagnosed him as having "Feline Interstitial Cystitis" (F.I.C.) - as it was explained to me, his bladder was inflamed and swollen, preventing him from being able to urinate. This is extremely dangerous because if the bladder becomes obstructed, it will rupture and kill the animal.
The doctor sent him home with me with medication and instructions for care due to the fact that his bladder was not obstructed and hopefully would not become so. I stayed awake all night with Loki to administer his meds and monitor his condition.
I understand that times are difficult for everyone right now, any help would be greatly appreciated. Anything received above the amount requested will be put into a special account for future care/veterinary expenses. God bless you and your loved ones.
