Help with Liam's Vet Bills

Donation protected
Liam is a sweet, 1 year old yellow lab who has been with Prison Pet Partnership since he was a puppy. He has done remarkably well with his training and is a very intelligent boy. He is one of our hopefuls to become a service dog for a disabled person once he completes his training when he is 2 years old.

Last week, Liam went in for a routine neuter, but his experience quickly turned into anything but routine. Our boy couldn't stop bleeding, developed a serious hematoma, which was followed by an infection. He had serious swelling, and was in  a lot of pain. After four days in and out of the emergency room, Liam had to undergo further surgery for removal of the hematoma and the infected tissue. The medications, anesthesia, IV infusions were very exhausting for our boy and his team of humans, both inside and outside of the prison walls! He was finally released from the clinic on Monday, and is now resting at the prison with his trainer watching over him 24/7.

Although we budget for veterinary costs each year, this unforseen complication has hit us hard. Please help us by making a donation to help cover these veterinary expenses which came to $6000. We would greatly appreicate your support. 100% of your donation will be put towards Liam's veterinary expenses.

A little about our organization:
Prison Pet Partnership (PPP) is a non-profit organization located on the grounds of the Washington Corrections Center in Gig Harbor. We rescue and train homeless animals as well as purpose bred dogs to provide service dogs for persons with disabilities, as well as adopting out pets to the community . We also operate aq boarding and grooming facility to provide vocational education for women inmates. Our program benefits all involved- the animals who are given the chance to lead lives of service, the inmates who learn valuable skills so they may find gainful employment upon release, and the individuals with disabilities who receive well trained dogs to help increase their level of independence , and the community members who adopt a new family member into their forever home.
