Help with household bills after medical emergency

Donation protected
On March 1, 2023 I went to the ER for intense pain in my lower back that came on suddenly.  I ended up being admitted for 3 days and having emergency surgery due to a 7.4 MM kidney stone that was causing major blockage and a severe infection.  During the procedure they were not able to blast or break up the kidney stone due to all the swelling and infection. They were unable to insert the scope to see what they were doing.  Instead they pushed the stone back into my kidney and out of my ureter and also inserted a stent. Because the stone is so large I will not be able to pass it.  It’s now 10 days later, and I’m still waiting to have my 2nd (and 3rd) procedures scheduled.

Two of the three days I was out were unpaid. As a single parent who has to work 80-100 hours a week between two jobs just to live paycheck to paycheck, that equates to 5 missed days of income.  Because of this, I am unable to pay my rent or my other bills.  I am still trying to play catch up as it is.

I’m supposed to be resting and letting my body heal from the infection so that I can have the additional procedures, but financially I am not able to. I got out of the hospital Friday afternoon, spent all day Saturday at my son’s track meet. And then Sunday I was back in the car Ubering 12 hours. I do not have the time to let myself heal.  I also jumped right back into a 40 hour work week at Disney.  Thankfully I’m working from home for that.  Thankfully my medical bills are covered. Whatever my insurance doesn’t cover, I was able to have covered under Medicaid.

I am still in a lot of pain on a daily basis, and there’s only so much pain management they can give me outside of the hospital.  Plus, I cannot drive and take the Percocet/oxycodone for pain control.  Despite the pain, I’m still putting on my happy face, and Ubering 7am-12pm Tuesday-Friday, and then also 12 hours each day on Saturdays Sundays and Mondays, as well as 12:15pm-11:15pm for Disney Tuesday-Friday.  I just can’t catch up.

Yesterday (3/8) I returned home from Ubering at 12pm to clock into my Disney job at 12:15, to a 3 day notice from my landlord. I have until 4:30 pm on March 14 to pay them $2351.09, or vacate the property. I have been in contact with them through this entire ordeal, and the response was “it’s in your lease agreement.”

Needless to say, while I am working as much as I can, I still need help getting caught up for this months bills and next months.  And I still need to find time to rest and heal.

Any amount helps at this point.  And my boys and I would be forever grateful.  We happened to find this house, which works for us, however the current financial crisis is making it difficult.

I hate asking for help. I hate feeling like I’m not doing a good enough job. But life is just too expensive right now. I’d never qualify for another house or apartment based on the needing 3x the rent in income to qualify. I’d love to stay where I am. Plus the boys are doing well in their school.

This is the first time I’m making it publicly known how bad of a situation we are in. And I know that there are people out there who are so much worse off.  I’m usually the first one to give my last dollar.  Now, I need the help.

Thank you for reading this far.  If you can’t donate, if you could please share, I would definitely appreciate it.
