Support Albie & his parents at such a hard time

Hello and thankyou for visiting our fundraising page I am the nan of Albie and the mum of leah, very kind people have asked how they can help at such a hard worrying time we had a lovely suggestion about making a go fund me and although we did not want to the situation we are in as a family is just so hard.

Albie was born on 14th September 2022 and spent around 3 weeks in hospital due to having complete atrioventricular septal defect

(A , congenital cardiac anomaly )

Tetralogy of Fallot

(a condition caused by a combination of four heart defects that are present at birth and Down’s syndrome

He came home and caught covid on 10th November and his op had to be cancelled. The covid has damaged his lungs and kidneys. (He’s now got chronic lung disease)

He got better and the op was rescheduled for 5th jan but on the 17th of December he went limp and blue at home. Leah rang 999 while she was on the phone to them josh had to resuscitate albie he then had to be resuscitated in the ambulance then again when they got to hospital. He had caught bronchitis and was struggling to breathe. He stayed in pinderfields for 3 weeks then was transferred to leeds. His op was meant to be 12th of jan but it got cancelled at last minute as he had another infection. He had open heart surgery on Monday 16th jan there was complications which resulted in him staying on the bypass machine for longer than he should of his heart had to be restarted 3 times which has caused more trauma to it , his heart was that enlarged it had rotated during surgery with bad valve regurgitation and now needs a complete new valve. It is going to be a very long road of recovery none of us have any idea how long they will remain in hospital . My daughter Leah has spent 5 weeks in hospital whilst josh her partner has looked after their other son Henry who also has Down syndrome as a family we really appreciate any kind of help the past 5 weeks have been financially hard for them staying in hospital aswell as emotionally and we are ever so thankful for the support xx
