<div>on September 3rd My partner Damion got hit on his way to work, completely totaling his vehicle. As many of you know, we also just purchased a house last Tuesday on the 26th, and after closing discovered that there were bed bugs in the home. We cannot catch a break. Not only do we still have to pay rent until the house is livable, but we have to pay for the mortgage, an exterminator, and we have to replace all the carpet due to the extent of the infestation. Now my partner has also lost his transportation to work.

<div>those that know us also know our situation. We are a trans couple that experienced homelessness before getting into our current basement apartment. This worked well for a while until my health started to fail and we discovered that I have a degenerative disease. I am now a wheelchair user and my apartment does not support that. Furthermore I cannot safely evacuate it, and when I’m having a heath emergency I have to have paramedics carry me up stairs. This new house is fully wheelchair accessible and is our chance at a better life, we just have to not lose it.
