Update: as of last weekend I was able to pick up my car and take it home as long as I paid the remaining $1,800 balance. The dealership was even nice enough to offer $2,000 for repairs. Unfortunately when I picked it up Saturday the transmission started slipping again immediately and reverse gear went out the next day. It is now back at the dealership and they are trying to see if my expired warranty will cover any amount towards a new transmission. This has been an absolute nightmare please help or share if you can. Please pray for us that this can all be resolved soon. It's been extremely hard not having the support I did before my close family members passed away.
Hi everyone! My name is Erica and if you know me or my family, you know we have recently experienced so much loss. My Daddy passed after a very short battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma on Memorial Day, and my Granny, who helped raise me, lost her battle with dementia less than 3 months later on August 11th.
I quit my job to care for my grandma full-time after my dad's passing due to not having FMLA yet, so that contributed to our hardship. In the midst of catching up on her mortgage and paying for funeral expenses, a solenoid in my transmission went bad less than 3 months after I paid $2000 for an extended warranty that was 300 miles over the coverage limit. The dealership has agreed to pay $1000 towards repair, and I am able to get a loan for $400.
I do not like to ask for help, but I have to in this situation. Caring for my grandma during her last weeks on Earth inspired me to go to nursing school, but I won't be able to support my family or better our future without these necessary car repairs. Any amount will help, and I would be so grateful. If you can't help financially, please keep us in your prayers and share this for us! This has been a difficult season, but I have faith in the Lords plans.
