Our Friend & Brother William "Willie" Apodaca-Fisk needs our help.
He has been accepted into the ExoSym Limb Salvage program at the Hanger Clinic in Gig Harbor, Wa.

That program will outfit Willie with a new ExoSym leg brace designed and built with the latest technology to better alleviate his daily pain and vastly improve the range of motion in his leg. Watch the short video below to see how amazing the technology is!
This new brace will replace the current simple brace (shown in the below picture and affectionately known as "Peg" ) that was provided by the VA as the remedy for his numerous Combat injuries and surgeries during his years of service in the Army.
In order to get outfitted and trained for his new brace Willie needs to make 2 visits to Gig Harbor, WA. One for a 2 days for fittings and casts, the 2nd one for 5-8 days of fitting and training. They are currently trying to quickly plan to have him there in mid-September for the first visit.
Unfortunately this amazing opportunity comes at a great immediate out of pocket cost to Willie and Vicki. The VA will not cover this new technology (ironically developed at Brooke Army Medical Center) and their approved answer for any further pain reduction for Willie is complete below the knee amputation at a higher cost!
Expenses for the new brace and travel to the clinic have been estimated to be at least $13,000.
Those that know Willie and have benefited from generosity understand that he would never ask for help on his own. He is always selflessly looking to help others first and spends his retirement volunteering for too many organizations to count.
That is why we are stepping in to ask on his behalf. Please give any amount that you are able as each $1 helps Willie on the path to a more comfortable and enjoyable life!
