<div>In her 5 weeks of life, she has now had a total of 5 hospital stays at 4 different hospitals and leaving us with more questions than answers. Savannah's pain is progressing as well as her feeding issues and her muscle spasm/twitches continue daily. She has had every test under the sun run on her that they can think of. So so many blood tests with lots of abnormal results, with most leaning towards liver and neurological issues, urine tests with high results on things but no bacteria, spinal taps that were "traumatic" and bled so results are voided,  ultrasounds of intestines and organs looked normal, X-rays show some sort of foreign matter possibly fecal matter but she poops normally several times a day so that is questionable, EEG's showed no seizures but did have some abnormal/irregular brain activity that resolved itself within seconds, and MRI results show an enlarged space in the area that the kernicterus brain damage would be (from high bilirubin levels). We are still struggling financially as we are unable to go back to work while going back/forth to hospital, bills/late fees are piling up and now ontop of getting hotel rooms when we can, $30 daily hospital parking, gas, food, etc because she is now in Houston med center. This has been extremely hard on our family mentally, emotionally, and financially. We ask for continued prayers for sweet Savannah's healing, for our family, especially for Titan and Elowynne (siblings) as they don't understand what is going on and why and they are very emotional with this, and prayers for all of the medical teams as well. <div>Savannah was discharged on Wednesday, January 7th. She had her pediatrician appointment on Thursday the 8th and went home to be with her family. Her billirubin numbers went up .1 again, but the pediatrician said that it was fine and for us to take her home and not to worry that her numbers should soon be decreasing. Friday night January 9th Savannah started to eat less and become more lethargic. We watched her closely through the night, and she perked up Saturday morning and declined again that evening and we rushed her to the er. They ran some tests and made sure she ate and released her. Sunday was a great day but ate a little less than normal. Monday January 12th (mom and baby Savannah's original due date) Savannah did not perk up that morning we realized she was not eating well at all and started having muscle convulsions and in excruciating and inconsolable pain she became limp as a ragdoll, so we rushed her back to the er where she was again admitted to the NICU for the 3rd time in her short 18 days of life. As of now they have run multiple tests and found metabolic acidosis on top of her already known ABO Incompatibility and Coombs positive plus one. They are continuing to monitor her and run tests to find the root cause.

<div>My name is Nikki and this is my sweet friend Whitney and her family, and they need our help. They are walking through an incredibly difficult season, and no family should have to carry this kind of weight alone. Let’s rally around them, surround them with love, and remind them they are seen. <div>On December 26, 2025, sweet Savannah entered the world after already fighting hard just to arrive safely. Her mama had been closely monitored for weeks after Savannah was identified as a “flat baby” on multiple NSTs, leading to an emergency induction to protect her life.

<div>At birth, Savannah was briefly placed on her mama’s chest, but she immediately sensed something was wrong. Savannah was limp and unresponsive, and within moments she was rushed away by the medical team. Tests revealed dangerously low blood sugar at just 23 and a low body temperature of 96.7. The medical team acted quickly, stabilizing her with glucose and warming measures.

<div>Once stabilized, her mama was able to hold her baby again briefly, only to have Savannah taken once more for phototherapy. Bloodwork showed severe jaundice caused by a blood type incompatibility, with Mom being O+ and Savannah B+. Savannah required constant monitoring, feeding under phototherapy lights, frequent testing, and extended separation from her mama. She was unable to truly hold her baby for the first five days of her life.

<div>After Savannah’s levels improved, doctors felt comfortable discharging them with instructions to see the pediatrician immediately. On New Year’s Eve, Savannah was brought in for follow up care, believing they were finally on the path home together. Two days later, new test results came back showing Savannah’s bilirubin levels had dangerously risen again.

<div>On January 2, 2026, Savannah was rushed back to the hospital. After what felt like endless waiting, the nurse delivered heartbreaking news. Savannah’s bilirubin had risen to 27, requiring immediate admission to the NICU. She has remained there since, receiving intensive phototherapy and IV fluids. While her progress has been slow, there is steady improvement, and every small step forward matters.

<div>Savannah’s mama is now a single mother of three and has been unable to work throughout December due to her high risk pregnancy. She cannot return to work until she is medically cleared and until Savannah is healthy and back home. The emotional toll is heavy, and the financial strain continues to grow.

<div>Savannah’s grandparents, Whitney and Luke, are the family’s foundation during this crisis. Luke is the sole provider for the household, while Whitney is the full time caregiver for the grandchildren. Whitney has not been able to work so she can care for the two older children while Savannah’s mama remains at the hospital. One of the older children is autistic and is only comfortable being cared for by Mom or grandparents, making full time caregiving essential.

<div>This family is navigating fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty while doing everything they can to remain strong and present for their children. Funds raised will help cover basic living expenses, travel costs, missed wages, and daily needs while Savannah continues her fight in the NICU.
