Help Whitey get treatment!

Last year, Whitey went for an MRI of his back for what we thought was a disc problem. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer with extensive widespread metastasis. Initially, he was given a prognosis of six weeks to six months to live.  I quit my job to stay home and take care of him and our children.
For the first six months, he responded well to treatment. His severe pain is controlled with meds. The cancer was receding in the bones. We were thrilled! Then at nine months ... His PSA begin to rise again. This indicated his cancer is hormone refratory, meaning his current treatment is no longer working. Over a month ago, his oncologist ordered a new oral chemotherapy that costs approximately $40,000 for a course (Approx $5000/month) that could prolong his life for about eight months, before getting conventional chemotherapy, which may extend his life for 3 to 4 more months. We were hoping to get the medication from the VA, but seems it is not so, even though his cancer is most likely a result of his service in Vietnam, and his exposure to Agent Orange. It is urgent he receive this treatment!
We need your help! We have exhausted our savings, took out the money in our 401,  and we. are in the process of trying to refinance our house to help pay our overwhelming bills.
Lord knows, it is very hard for me to ask others for help...
but when our 14 year old offered to drop out of St. Joseph's Collegiate  Institute, to help pay for his Dad's medical treatment ... I knew I had to do something more!  Jackson is an honor student, and on the Brother Pompian Honors Academy at Saint Joe's. He works very hard, and is in five advanced placement courses, which would not be available to him in public school.  Our daughter Lily (age 12) is also an honor student. She is a competitive figure skater, who has decreased her skating time to help cut costs.
 I have asked God to soften my heart, put my pride aside, and ask for your help. So I am asking.... Please help Whitey to receive the treatment he desperately needs to help him live longer. My children need their father! Any donation will help! Any extra money received will be placed in an educational fund for our children.
