Help We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym

Hello, my dear We Rock Family and Friends and all who don’t know me yet!! My name is Eva, owner of We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym in Ballston Spa, NY.  I am also an Occupational Therapist and have previously worked with local children diagnosed with autism in a local private school as well as their families.

After working with several families, I saw the need in our community for a safe and fun place for children with autism, special needs, and neurotypical development and their families. 2 ½ years ago I was fortunate enough to open We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym in Ballston Spa, New York, a sensory gym for kids of all ages and abilities. We Rock the Spectrum is a space where EVERYONE is accepted, welcomed, and no one ever has to say, “I’m Sorry”. It is an honor to work with My Brother Rocks the Spectrum, the amazing non-profit organization that is the backbone of our franchise.

I’ve gone back and forth time and time again debating whether or not it was time to reach waaaaaay out of my comfort zone and ask for help. The reality is, I’m so sorry to say, our gym WILL NOT SURVIVE this extended closing without financial help. Due to the Coronavirus and a statewide shutdown we’ve had countless canceled events, programs, and open play dates resulting in A LOT of lost revenue. When you add on the additional costs of PPE, sanitizer, extra soaps and cleaners, and our ultrasonic static sanitizer, I unfortunately have a long way to go to make ends meet. I have been looking and applying for all the support I can however, I fall into a really awkward category and I don’t qualify for government support.

My gym is part of a non-profit, small business, franchise location, and I am the only employee. My options are limited! When I opened these doors, I never imagined that my guests would become a great big extended family. I didn’t expect my visitors would come to see my gym as their home away from home as their safe place! I’d like to quote a few of my Facebook reviews here because the We Rockers that shared these thoughts are the ones who say it best.

These friends are the ones whose children would feel the most heartbreak should we have to close.
