Help Wayne to a successful recovery
On Monday April 12 2021 Wayne had an tragic accident at work when he fell off scaffolding. The accident resulted in numerous rib & vertebrae fractures, as well as severe head trauma. He has been in the ICU at the Hershey Medical Center since the accident. Once his head injuries improve the Neurosurgeons will perform back surgery to stabilize his spine.
We lost my mother unexpectedly back in 2013 so it is just my dad who takes care of everything and everyone. My dad owns his own business and unfortunately his workmen’s comp denied his claim. He also lives with his mother Emma (83) to care for her through the night since her stroke about 2 years ago.
Doctors have discussed that it is likely he will be moved from with in the hospital to a rehabilitation center. The recovery time is estimated to be about 6-12 months for his back injuries post surgery & 9-12 months for his brain injuries. As you can tell he will be with out work for an extended period of time. At this time it is unclear when or if he will be able to get back to work again.
We are just asking for any help you may be able to give. In understanding that this may be a very tough time for everyone, if you can not give anything please still keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
