Help most vulnerable during COVID-19 pandemic

Working with Sir Ashok Gaikwad and his overwhelmingly welcoming colleagues last year was one of the most impactful experiences in my life.

Their non-profits Lokparishad Panvel and Ashray Social Foundation Panvel conduct HIV/ AIDS awareness programs and give sex workers the opportunity to receive education, testing, and treatment. With this beautiful work, they support the most vulnerable in their community and empower women that have suffered from mental and physical assault.

The COVID-19 crisis and the following lockdown in India have caused poverty and hunger among migrants and sex workers. Lokparishad Panvel and Ashray Social Foundation Panvel have taken upon the important task to distribute free food and hygienic articles in their community. However, due to the lack of government funding, money for nutrition and supplies is running out.
