</div>

<div>Von played football for the Kansas Jayhawks, then had a short stint in the NFL. Years later, those gridiron battles caught up with him. His spine has endured years of strain and injury.

<div>After three major back surgeries, the nerves that tell his legs how to move simply stopped cooperating.
</div>
<div>For the past two months, Von has been in a rehab center, working every day to re-train his body to walk again.
</div>

<div>He’s fighting with everything he’s got—but this time, he can’t do it alone.
