<div><strong>WHAT'S HAPPENNING IN MYANMAR?</strong>

<div>On Friday, a devastating and deadly 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck near Sagaing, Myanmar. It’s one of the strongest quakes the region has experienced in living memory—leaving behind widespread damage and heartbreaking loss. Some of the hardest-hit areas are also the most remote, receiving little to no aid.

<div>The quake has resulted in a rising death toll of over 2000 deaths, 4000 injuries and hundreds still missing. Death toll is expected to be 10,000+. The hardest-hit regions include Sagaing Division and Mandalay Division, where entire communities have been left in ruins. Critical infrastructure, including bridges, highways, and airports, has sustained significant damage, making rescue and relief efforts extremely challenging.

<div>Today, April 1st, 2025 at 12:501 PM, there will be a minute of silence as a national mourning. Sirens will be heard locally. Please stop wherever you are. The 7-day period from March 31 to April 6 has been designated as The Day of National Mourning.

<div>Already being poverty stricken, the people of Myanmar, thousands of children, men and women are in need of support with their emergency medical care, food and other basic needs.

<div>Dave Leduc is a Canadian professional athlete, philanthropist and activist. He is the current multiple times Lethwei World Champion. Lethwei is Myanmar's national sport, the country's traditional combat art.

<div>16% of the families in Myanmar were living in "extreme poverty", that means on less than 1.90$ USD per day. Now, after years of covid, military coup, civil wars, cyclone, flooding and now the biggest earthquake in living memory that figure is up over 80%.
