Help Vicky’s Voc Rehab

Donation protected
Unfortunately, after years of underemployment, unemployment, 2 divorces, single-motherhood, caring for my aging mother and a grand total of 15 relocations since the Desert Storm Era, I filed a claim with the VA Benefits Administration and received an active duty service-connected disability compensation with access to vocational rehabilitation. I struggle with housing, auto, health, legal, dependent and pet-care costs. Current payments, overdue bills and collections are crushing me. I’m missing out on work while following through mental health appointments and the VA Voc Rehab process to find the right occupational match for my condition.

Immediate health treatment include a root canal, continued psychotherapy, DBT skills partial hospital programs, vegan/GF dietary support and hematology monitoring of my blood cells.  I have several areas of employment expertise that my VA Voc Rehab case manager and I are sifting through to find the best fit; however appointments are 6-8 weeks apart leaving me managing on less than a thousand dollars a month.  I have exhausted my savings and retirement since I left my teacher position last fall on Short-Term Disability which ultimately uncovered my military service-related health issue.

20% of the funds are directed to immediate health, living and pet-care expenses.  My scheduled root canal was cancelled and I need that procedure yesterday.  The Delta Dental VA VIP program I qualify for requires I pay premiums retrospectively to Feb 2017 to get on that now "discontinued" dental plan.  Also, I owe my landlord 6 months rent and $4,000 to a childhood friend for the surgery that saved my dog's life: she has her son's college tuition bill to pay now.  I am hopeful to land a math teacher job for the school year. Unfortunately, it is at a significanlty lower pay, but it may be more manageable with my condition and voc rehab accomoodations.

The remaining 80%  would eradicate overdue bills and collections.  With those cured and the resulting credit score improvement, I could use my VA Loan Certificate of Eligibility to get a home for me, my 2 kids and companion dog.  There my mother, now diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, could visit periodically from her rehabilitative care center.

Update:  Dental Insurance thanks to new teacher position covers 30-50% of the root canal.  I am scheduled for September 20th.  The VADIP dental program is still in limbo for a bit longer.  Support thus far has put my car note and cell phone bill back on track--no more past due!

Additional ways to support me through this vocational rehabilitation are (1) networking (2) offering a job for entry-level business analytics that would support my math background and (3) mentoring for Black women with high emotional, academic and financial intelligence that need coaching, capital and social currency to progress in business and investment ownership.  This has begun thru VA Voc Rehab and new mentor.  I recently gained my Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training.  So things are changing--I am changing--to get me to a clean slate economically

I believe there isn't something to talk about until there is, so I ask you: Is it possible to donate $3 today to Help Vicky's Voc Rehab?

Please donate and...talk about it.

Thank you and be well.
