Help Velv'IT Boutique Beauty Buy a Security System

#ISTANDWITHVELVITBEAUTY

This GoFundMe is a call-to-action to help a Black Business owner who is in URGENT need of safety and security for her small business!

Standing in solidarity with Velv'IT Boutique Beauty, we are calling on the community and everyone who believes in the power of improving local economies to help this entrepreneur.  We are raising $2,500, which will allow the boutique to get a security gate for the door, install a security system, and pay for some portion of future surveillance costs. A security system must be put in place as soon as possible to protect the store, the employees, and the customers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Velv'IT Boutique Beauty is a Black woman-owned beauty supply store that opened its doors in Denver, Colorado on September 21st, 2020. The company sells an array of high-quality health and beauty products, including organic and locally-sourced selections that cater to natural, curly, and textured hair. The store is service-focused and strives to provide a safe, serene, and inclusive shopping experience for customers from all walks of life. The owner, ALLurrr'em VelvIT, is not only an ambitious entrepreneur, but she is also one of the pioneers of the Black Burlesque scene in the Twin Cities.

Unfortunately, this store has been a target for repeated vandalism and theft. This has put pressure on the business, which is already struggling due to the economic changes caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. ALLurrr'em VelvIT has not given up though! She has continued to fight for her business to stay alive and thrive.

On January 26th, 2020, the store was burglarized, the door was smashed, and the cash registers were destroyed. The store boarded up and continued to stay open, despite the terrible damage that was left by the thieves. The door was just recently fixed and the store was targeting AGAIN on February 17th, just one day after the door was fixed and the glass was replaced.

Please donate anything you can and share this! We need to help this entrepreneur out! She has worked very hard to start a business that caters to the natural hair care needs of people with various textures of hair. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser. ALLurrr'em is a wonderful person and doesn't deserve to be a target of vandalism and theft.
