<div>"I never thought it would happen to me, and now it's actually happening."

<div>These are the words of my dear friend Valynne, a friend of mine for 20+ years.

</div>

<div>After months of serious health issues, going in and out of the hospital in Reno, her boyfriend of 15 years (knowing each other even longer) passed away at home on July 21st after a lengthy battle with stage 4 cancer, which started in his prostate and progressed to his bladder, lungs, urethra, and bones, essentially wreaking havoc throughout his body. This rendered him completely helpless, hardly able to speak, and with a catheter to pee. This cancer was vigilant and ripped through his organs rather quickly, and the hospitals were completely useless, as was hospice during his painful demise. Tom was constantly in pain.

<div>He finally passed away, leaving her world turned upside down. Tom was the breadwinner of the two, and all the savings depleted with bills, hospital care, and just keeping up with life itself. She is unable to even cover her rent and insurance for her car.

</div>

<div>Her friends scraped and chipped in to help with the cremation and all the details that go into this as she's completely broke. She barely made enough money for these necessities. Now she's got to move within a few days because she cannot afford the rent. She doesn't even have time to grieve as she now has to pack up and vacate the place with no place to rest her head or her cat that she rescued. She had to borrow money just to get a small storage space for her things.

<div><strong>Valynne is every bit of the giver type. Helping out the homeless with food or the little money she has, she's a giver. Now she needs to receive.</strong> She never asks for anything, always self-sufficient, but now, sadly, she's in need of serious help.

</div>

<div>Tom and Valynne have gone through hell in and out of the hospital, and with hardly any help from hospice. Both were less than helpful. The hospital didn't do hardly anything to help. Valynne was by his side and hardly ate except for drinking Ensure, which made her turn into skin and bones from all the stress, lack of appetite, and hardly sleeping. It was around the clock she needed to help him; he was her priority, forgoing all her own needs. She was faithful and devoted to Tom.

<div>Tom was the breadwinner, and now that he's gone, all the money they saved has been depleted, and now she's facing eviction with no place to rest her or her cat's head. She rescued her cat.

</div>

<div>After months of serious health issues, stage 4 cancer ripped through his body, rendering him unable to speak. He was completely bedridden.

</div>

<div>Valynne has always been very unselfish, giving her time to help homeless people with food or the little money she has. She's got such a good heart, honestly. After a lengthy battle with stage 4 cancer, life won't be the same again. She stayed up for 3 days alone with just short naps because Tom needed around-the-clock help, and it was just her to do this. That alone is disappointing.

<div>She's already had a stroke and also a heart attack in 2021.

</div>

<div>Her world has turned completely upside down, with no light at the end of the tunnel. She's got limits in abilities now.

</div>

<div>Valynne is a godly woman who's read the Bible often and from cover to cover, twice! When Tom's best friend was going through hard times with no place to go, Billy stayed at their place for 3-4 months. Now his father passed, he inherited a 4-bedroom place and turned his back on her when she needed him the most.

</div>

<div>I'm seeking a community of like-minded people that would give a hand in helping her get back on her feet.

</div>

<div>She now has to go back to work at age 60, and the job market is less than kind to someone her age and with her physical abilities.

</div>

<div>When she had her heart attack in 2021, that was a nightmare in itself, but Tom stayed by her side.

</div>

<div>And even when she had a stroke more recently, he stayed by her side.

</div>

<div>Originally from the SF Bay area, they both moved to Reno to start a new chapter in their lives together. They couldn't be happier.

</div>

<div>All that changed just months ago, and now she's fallen on hard times, very hard times, and this woman really needs your help.

</div>
