Help Valley Girls Tier2 get to NATIONALS!

The Syracuse Valley Eagles/CNY Bobcats 16U Girls Tier II hockey team is reaching out to the community for your assistance. The girls placed 2nd this past weekend in the New York State Amateur Hockey Association (NYSAHA) in Buffalo and qualified for the 2021 USA Hockey-Chipotle Girls Tier II 16U National Championship in Denver, Colorado later this month. The immediate reaction of the girls was one of extreme excitement and sense of accomplishment!  Many of the players mentioned all the hard-work they put forth on the ice this season and in the midst of a pandemic which forced many restrictions. They had to change in the parking lot at the Meachem Ice Rink, they were not allowed to play in-state games at the beginning of the season, and they were limited to a certain number of players that could actually be on the ice together during practice.  Despite the obstacles, with the help of their dedicated coaches and their love of hockey, the girls were able to bond on and off the ice to achieve a remarkable feat in qualifying for Nationals.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the girls to be able to compete at this level, but the cost of attending the tournament is substantial and was unanticipated.  Players, coaches, and family members will need to pay for airfare, car rentals, hotels, meals, and registration fees.   The players are reaching out to the hockey community in Central New York and beyond to help them attend the National Tournament by donating to our GoFundMe page.
