Help Valeriia Beat Lyme Disease

Donation protected
Hello, I’m Valeriia and I have Chronic Lyme Disease along with co-infections Bartonella and Babesia. I also have a CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) . My journey with Lyme began a long, long time ago. After years of painfully horrific nights, long days, and many misdiagnoses, I was finally diagnosed with Chronic Lyme disease. I had no idea at the time of my diagnosis how complex my life was going to get. The truth is that the diagnosis was just the beginning.  The recommended treatment didn't work for me, and that is why I am here to share my story.

Chronic Lyme disease is a bacteria-borne infection that primarily comes from the bite of a deer tick or any bug that carries the infection. Lyme is directly caused by a bacteria called a spirochete- a spiral shaped bacteria that can drill into and affect any part of the body. Depending on the severity of the disease, it can diminish your quality of life to almost nothing.

Symptoms of Lyme disease vary according to each patient’s unique co-infections, physiology, and history with the disease. I’ve had Lyme since I was a little girl and it has significantly weakened my immune system. Other symptoms I have include but are not limited to: chronic abdominal pain, chronic fatigue, cognitive issues, joint pain, digestive problems, heart pain and palpitations, allergies, brain fog, migraines, vertigo, and flu-like symptoms. The symptoms seem never ending. I have dealt with them for so long that I have forgotten what it is like to be a “normal,” healthy person.

This disease has taken an emotional toll on me as well. I have experienced feelings of being less than human, worthless, and pathetic.  While I know this is untrue, years of physical suffering sometimes make it difficult to believe that I have not simply lost myself.  But I refuse to surrender to these feelings.

My family says I should feel proud of what I’ve gone through. Yes I should, and I am. But I want to be proud of something positive, something I accomplished on my own terms, not something that I had to get through. I don’t want to be known as “the sick girl.” I want people to smile at me, not cry and hope I’m not dying. I want to be able to have the things many people take for granted: to not be in pain, to finish my education, and to have a family.

Many patients treat their Lyme with years of antibiotics, but that option just didn't work for me. My body was too fragile and did not respond to antibiotics. After consulting many Lyme experts and undergoing several failed treatments, I took a leap of faith and tried to find a different, more holistic path using strictly herbal & homeopathic therapies. I sought treatment at the Sophia Health Institute in Seattle this April. After a week in their care, for the first time in this whole ordeal I had several pain-free days and saw other improvements that gave me hope.

I want to fight this thing.  I want to fight until my fighting capacity is weakened to almost nothing. I want to come out alive and strong. I truly believe that I can beat this, and with proper patience and endurance I will see the day when I will be the strong and healthy woman I was meant to be. Someday I will look back and remember what I have gone through. I  will remember how strong I am. I have to focus on the things I am able to do, not the things I can’t.

Unfortunately, Lyme treatment is not covered by insurance. I've spent a lot of money out of pocket during my treatment journey and now I have to ask for help. And I’m not ashamed to do it anymore. It’s a chance for me to be alive and to live a full life. I believe in healing. I believe in change. I believe things will get better. I have to.

I am seeking your help to raise funds for treatment at Sophia Health Institute in Seattle, Washington. Sophia Health Institute practices integrative medicine combining the best of western medicine and natural medicine. I will be undergoing treatment for multiple medical disorders: Lyme disease and several additional tick and mosquito-borne co-infections, parasites and mold toxicity alone with treatment of resulting endocrine disorders.

I am kindly asking for ANY donations- big or small- towards my medical treatment. I am grateful for all and any help. Just sharing this post would mean the world to me.  Thank you in advance for helping me continue the fight!
