<div>On September 21, 2024, my daughter Anitra Holloman, just 21 years old, was tragically killed in a mass shooting in Birmingham, Alabama. Twenty-one people were shot, and four were killed — Anitra was one of them.

<div>She left behind her one-year-old daughter, Skiler, who had already lost her father to gun violence before she was born. In just one year, this little girl lost both parents to senseless violence.

<div>In her honor, I created Anitra’s Light Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children and young adults who have lost a parent due to gun violence or other tragic circumstances.
