Help us to see our son more

Hi, my name is Danielle. On May 28, 2023, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy weighing 1 Ib 12 oz 24 weeks premature. He’s been having a lot of highs and lows, which to be expected for a preemie. But now we are looking at a real low. He has a heart defect, PDA, that’s not closing. It’s causing him to have to be ventilated and using 80-100 percent on oxygen. They are saying he needs surgery, they tried everything they could to prevent it, but it’s become inevitable.

He’s located at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. My husband, Charlie and I live in Waynesville, NC, 40 minutes away on a good day. The hospital has referred us to a house we could stay in for free for the first 14 days. But if we want to stay longer, we have to pay $30 a day. We’re looking at being there for at least three months. And the doctors think it’ll be best if we can stay as close as we possibly can, in case of any other lows. We just want to be able to stay close to our son and be able to see him every day instead of only on the weekends. We thank you so much in advance for anything donated.
